Minimum Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in art/graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.

·        Efficiency with publication and graphics software, including Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

·        Expertise in digital photography and videography.

·        Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

·        Understanding of marketing and branding concepts.

·        Ability to work as part of design team, maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the general public, and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority, and maintain knowledge of latest developments in graphics and design.

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

·        Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.

·        Ability to lead and train staff and/or student workers.

·        Organizational skills.

Job Description

The Creative Services Manager is a full-time position located on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, the Creative Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation and completion of communications/marketing materials including, but not limited to, fliers, brochures, catalogs, rack cards, publications, social media graphics, printed signs, photos, and videos. 

To be successful, the Creative Services Manager must demonstrate exceptional project management and customer service skills. The ideal candidate thrives on deadline, possesses a relentlessly creative mind, and is excited by the opportunity to shape, protect, and continuously elevate SPCC’s visual identity.

Job Duties

·        Produces accurate documents, advertisements, and electronic visuals that effectively communicate with and capture the attention of the intended audience. Examples include, but are not limited to, ads, collateral materials, direct mail, fliers, invitations, catalogs, and brochures. 

·        Manages internal ticketing system and project management platform. Reviews all service requests and, when necessary, makes assignments to student interns/contractors.

·        Guides projects through the development process, including client discussions, proofing, and authorizations. 

·        Works closely with the executive director to continuously elevate the college’s overall brand and look. 

·        Helps develop communications distributed through email, website, social media, digital signs, and other communications channels as necessary. 

·        Produces and provides professional photography as needed. Maintains easily accessible photography files for use by employees throughout the college. 

·        Ensures brand consistency and quality across all formats. 

·        Communicates promptly, politely, and collaboratively with all college stakeholders. 

·        Ensures all projects are completed by deadline. 

·        Works effectively with writers, photographers, editors, freelance designers, production vendors, and commercial printers, other members of the communications/marketing team, students, employees, and all other stakeholders. 

·        Supervises the work of a part-time employee, student workers, and vendors (as needed). 

·        Verifies college materials are proofed and accurate, correctly branded, and authorized by clients. 

·        Works with college clients and colleagues to negotiate, create, and evaluate projects. 

·        Travel to all SPCC campuses and centers in Monroe, Polkton, and Wadesboro.

·        Flexibility for evening and weekend assignments as needed.

·        Other duties as assigned.
