Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and some knowledge of regulations governing Veterans programs. 3 years relevant experience with data management, reporting, or other similar experience.

Position Description

Works with the Director of Financial Aid in administering federal, state, and local financial aid programs for students who meet eligibility criteria with responsibility for the Veterans Administration (VA) Programs.  Support functions include, but are not limited to:  assisting students with applications and registration, responding to student inquiries, data entry and retrieval, preparation and mail-out of correspondence, management of multiple databases, and filing.  Coordinates the internal and external accumulation and reporting of curriculum data and provides information and analytic support to administrative decision makers regarding the use of internal and external resources to facilitate strategic planning, policy making, enrollment and retention projects and other processes requiring sound strategic analysis. Assures compliance with NCC’s various reporting entities and accrediting agency.  Assists with Curriculum schedule input and changes.

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Certify eligible students for VA benefits using Enrollment Manager.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and appropriate recordkeeping of Curriculum FTE and Enrollment reporting for NCC to NCCCS.
  • Assist veteran students on action steps needed regarding veterans’ benefits and maintain adequate records showing progress.
  • Verify VA students are meeting the school’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
  • Develop a cordial working relationship with high school personnel, VA Regional Office, State Veterans Approval Agency and civic organizations.
  • Coordinate with the Business Office concerning 3rd party billing for Chapter 31 and 33 VA students.
  • Develop and run requested curriculum related informer reports.
  • Assist in verification of accuracy of Common Course Library local courses in compliance with currently approved curriculum standards.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of membership records for curriculum classes and ensure reports are submitted according to established System Office schedule.
  • Assist curriculum instructors in accurately recording student attendance in Web Attendance.
  • Assist in the pre-registration/registration process.
  • Assist Financial Aid staff with verification of attendance for financial aid recipients.
  • Assist with curriculum schedule input and changes.
  • Serve as a standing member of Curriculum Committee.
  • Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC. 
  • Participate in College events and activities.
  • Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.
  • Perform duties as assigned which will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC.
  • Serve on various committees as assigned.
  • Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
