Associate degree required Must have excellent computer skills – At least 2 years of computer work experience is required Must be proficient in working with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) The successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with being well organized and the ability to multi-task Ability to work a flexible schedule during registration and occasional evening hours Demonstrated accuracy in producing professional documents Demonstrated ability to work in a congenial and professional manner with students, faculty, and staff Ability to work under pressure of deadlines

Position Description

The Curriculum Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all courses, scheduling classes, assigning classrooms, and the maintenance of curricula for all programs of study. Duties & Responsibilities: Scheduling and Classroom Organization: Responsible for preparation and data entry of all curriculum classes offered at the Statesville Main Campus, Front Street, Workforce Development Center, Mooresville Center, and class locations (i.e. YMCA) for fall, spring, and summer semesters Keep classrooms on Main Campus seating capacities accurate for scheduling and reporting Maintain schedule (i.e. adds, cancels, and changes, such as faculty changes, room changes, & etc.) Serve as a communications liaison between Admissions and Records and various college personnel including deans, directors, coordinators, advisors, counselors, and the Vice President for Instruction Maintaining Courses and Programs of Study: Maintain prerequisite/corequisite changes for all approved courses offered Keep current with changes to curriculum standards and courses made by the NC Community College System Office (“System Office”) Provide input and advice regarding courses and programs of study during Curriculum Council meetings Verify that curriculum changes meet state guidelines by reviewing articulation agreements, curriculum standards, and the Combined Course Library Annually submit to the System Office: 1. Programs for approval; 2. Active status requests for all new or revised courses; and 3. Paperwork regarding program terminations Update state level changes as required by System Office program coordinators Update programs of study in local Ellucian database for degree audit purposes Responsible for yearly revisions to the “Programs of Study” and “Curriculum Course Descriptions” section of the college catalog Other Responsibilities: Responsible for compiling and submitting the “Instructional Space Utilization Report” to the University of North Carolina after the end of each fall semester Responsible for yearly updating of programs of study in the NC WORKS for the Centralina Workforce Development Board Schedule meetings requested by faculty or staff in classrooms Assist with testing changes made to the Ellucian system in test and production Special projects as requested by the Director of Admissions/ College Registrar
