Minimum Qualifications

Blue Ridge Community College is located in Flat Rock, North Carolina; Henderson County. Presently we have an opening for a part time Custodian, HSC campus. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the custodian maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment in and around an assigned campus facility, group of buildings or office space, and performs related work as required.  Must be able to work weekends and available for any shift. Work scheudule is Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm. 

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.  North Carolina driver’s license.

Experience: 

All applicants must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting.

Knowledge and Skills: 

A strong commitment to safety.  Methods of maintaining, cleaning and preserving a variety of surfaces, proper use of a wide range of chemicals according to State and Federal regulations; handling and disposal of hazardous materials and blood borne pathogens.  Work effectively in and around the public, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, maintain cooperative working relationships while at the same time demonstrating sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.

Physical Demands: 

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
