Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION (Customized Training Director)
This is a full-time, twelve-month position reporting to Vice President of Continuing Education, Economic & Workforce Development. The ideal candidate will be highly innovative in the development of customized training programs to meet the needs of business and industry located in Brunswick County. This is a multi-faceted position, working with incumbent workers, job seekers, qualified instructors, staff, and business leaders in order to meet the evolving needs of Brunswick County. Local travel, routine face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, reporting, and highly responsive on- site training courses major areas of responsibility for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine communication with business and industry leaders throughout Brunswick County which results in strong professional relationships, follow-through, and growth. This communication will also include an annual survey and analysis.
Prepares customized training project submissions through the use of the NCCCS Colleagues System.
Submissions must include accurate budgets, training course outlines, learning objectives, and
training schedules.
Monitors, reconciles, and updates projects until completed and closes projects in collaboration with the Brunswick Community College business office and North Carolina Community College System regional leadership.
Coordinates seminars, workshops, and training sessions that are on-site (B&I), on-campus, or virtual.
Collaborates with community and state organizations for workforce and economic development updates.
Develops and maintains an accurate database of local businesses and industries in Brunswick County.
Maintains accurate records, prepares reports, and performs other administrative tasks to successfully grow the customized training program at BCC.
Attends and participates in routine industry focused tours and meetings coordinated by BCC, Cape Fear Workforce Development Board, NC Works, and Brunswick Business & Industry Development.
Works closely with BCC’s human resource director in order to recommend instructors for hire. These instructors will receive evaluations, feedback, and coaching as needed.
Supervises and directs activities for instructors, including the completion of required paperwork (timesheets, attendance, rosters, data sheets, contracts, evaluations).
Provides cost estimates, invoices, and agreements for training when appropriate.
Represents BCC well in the community through meetings, public speaking engagements and other media as appropriate.
Conducts class visitation in order to meet accountability and integrity plan requirements and to ensure program quality.
Complies with existing workflow processes to ensure program integrity and accountability in accordance with NCCCS and state regulatory agencies.
Serves on various committees approved by Vice President.

Full command of technology, including MS Office, specific Colleague mnemonics, presentation equipment, copiers, scanners, etc.
