Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in an Information Technology or Computer Science with a focus on Cyber Security.
Preferred Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with a focus on Cyber Security.
IT Certifications
Professional Certifications Preferred: Cysa+, CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GISF, or GSEC
Education and Experience:
- experience with network and OS hardening techniques
- experience with one of the latest firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet)
- experience administering and securing business-critical IT environments
- experience teaching in an LMS online environment
- subject matter education and/or training and experience that have both the breadth and depth needed to ensure effective teaching in the appropriate subject areas per the guidelines as adopted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and any appropriate governing agency
- experience with diverse populations strongly preferred
- demonstrated experience in teaching in a community college setting is a plus

Position Description
Full-time Curriculum Information Technology Faculty are responsible for the delivery of instruction to community college students pursuing associate degrees, diplomas, or certificates. Instructional activities require subject matter expertise and thorough preparation for every class meeting. Other responsibilities include the completion of necessary paperwork, responding to requests from your immediate supervisor, and attending required meetings and trainings.
We are searching for a faculty member to join our collaborative team and to teach the following courses:
CCT 110 Introduction to Cyber Crime
CCT 231 Technology Crimes & Law
CCT 240 Data Recovery Techniques
CCT 241 Advanced Data Recovery
CCT 250 Network Vulnerabilities I
SEC 151 Introduction to Protocol Analysis
SEC 258 Security Compliance
CCT 289 Capstone Project
Other IT related courses as assigned.
Instructional Activities:
- follow appropriate course goals and objectives along with evaluation methods which accurately measure student learning
- be thoroughly prepared for each instructional responsibility, regardless of setting
- maintain an up-to-date syllabus for each course using the approved syllabus template
- be present for the entire scheduled instructional times or provide appropriate class coverage plans to the Program Coordinator and Executive Director in the case of necessary absences
- ensure instructional materials comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines
- apply varying teaching methods to ensure concepts are conveyed to students
Related Responsibilities:
- complete and submit in a timely manner paperwork such as grade reports, financial forms, class coverage forms and others as necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the College
- work with Program Coordinator or Executive Director to order needed equipment and supplies
- comply with College policies and procedures
- work cooperatively with faculty, staff and students in a congenial and professional manner
- exhibit a commitment to community college education and the concept of a learning-centered, open admissions institution
- demonstrated effective and professional written and oral communication skills and organizational skills
- install software on lab computers as needed
- work with other IT Faculty to maintain computer labs and networking environment in all IT designated classrooms
- develop engaging video-based instructional content
- commitment to the College’s diversity and inclusion initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- knowledge of current trends in IT

- ability to present technology information in an understandable format
- ability to administer Windows-based network environments
- knowledge of Linux (RHEL, SELinux, Kali or Parrot)
