Minimum Qualifications

BS degree in education, computer studies, human resources, or related field; excellent communication skills; proven ability to work independently; and strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft office.

Preferred Qualifications

MA degree in education, computer studies, human resources, or related field plus work experience in Adult Basic Education.

Position Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Data Specialist: 

Enter and verify data in the Advansys System as it relates to the LEIS reporting requirements for student records, assessment scores, class rosters, attendance, grades, goals, and outcomes.

Enter Adult High School Credits into the Advansys System.

Maintain and update LEIS database.

Submit and maintain individual student reports, LEIS reports, and State and Federal reports.

Review LEIS data and counsel instructors on current LEIS procedures and changes.

Collaborate with the System Office personnel to ensure compliance with the state and federal performance measures.

Provide new students with voter registration information.

Design in coordination with IT staff, interim internal reports for periodic analysis of departmental data.

Perform Documentation audits at least two times each semester at each site location.

Verify the receipt of all course documentation from instructors at the end of each semester.

Utilize state E-Procurement system to purchase needed supplies and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the HSE Specialist:

Complete assessment administration training and certifications.

Submit certification renewals annually to the Director.

Conduct test sessions in compliance with state, federal, and vendor policies monthly for each test site; schedule additional test sessions when needed; transport tests maintaining security.

Maintain testing data in computer and in files in designated areas at all sites.

Inventory and refile tests at the end of each session.

Provide special documentation forms/hold testing sessions for students with disabilities in accordance with the A.D.A. Act of 1990.

Execute annual vendor assessment contract at the beginning of contract session and obtain appropriate signatures.

Determine the number of test batteries required to accommodate year’s estimated volume, order and arrange payment for material; determine special tests needed at each test site.

Arrange for UPS to pick up essays, maintain accountability forms and report essay scores.

Inform College Administration and State GED Administrator irregularities to Local and State Administrators and GED Test Service.

Compose congratulatory letters and send out after recipient receives total points needed to graduate.

Maintain graduate list for each test site.

Attend meetings scheduled for Assessment Examiners.

Inventory all test materials to ensure safe return of the tests to GED Testing Service at the end of contract year.

Train alternate or proctor with the approval of the  CCR Director in all aspects of the job, including testing, data entry and reporting scores.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the Research Specialist:

Query, retrieve, and summarize data from specialized databases and information systems including the Data Warehouse and Datatel (Colleague) to support the college’s College and Career Readiness Program.

Submit required reports to the NCCCS by the specified due dates.

Collect and extract demographic data from Datatel and other sources for planning and market research purposes.

Maintain knowledge of useful software and electronic processes for data architecture, informational analysis and processing, and improved data management.

Work closely with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness to assure accurate data entry and time sensitive local, state, and national records reporting.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
