Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher, required
- three or more years of experience in a computer or research related field; will substitute work experience for education, if experience is directly related to essential duties and responsibilities of the job
- proficiency in Microsoft Office products especially Access and Excelcertification preferred
- ability to maintain confidentiality and work a flexible schedule
- excellent organizational, time management skills and detail oriented
- understanding of and commitment to open-access community college philosophy, diversity issues ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Position Description
The Data Specialist will perform technical tasks related to collecting, retrieving, reporting, and presenting research and planning information and studies for the department. Primary responsibilities include the administration of survey instruments, labor and economic development analysis and support, and facilitation of unit-level planning in support of institutional effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- use of economic and labor resources in order to produce annual county labor projection report, job analytics reports, and program gap evaluations(ex. EMSI, BLS, NC LEAD)
- conduct surveys that assist the college in identifying unmet employer needs
- conduct and/or assist with the administration of all institutional surveys, including but not limited to, annual faculty and staff surveys, annual student surveys, evaluations of course, graduating student survey, and various internal ad-hoc surveys
- facilitate annual planning processes for administrative units maintain departmental public webpage and intranet site
- provide assistance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements
assist the Executive Director with the maintenance of databases for various institutional effectiveness and research purposes - participate on college committees, teams, and/or task forces as appointed
- other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction or Executive Director
