Position Description
DEFINITION:
The part-time Data Technician assists the Project Director and External Evaluator to plan, design, and analyze institutional research and benchmarking studies
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives general supervision from the Title III Program Director and External Evaluator
- No supervision exercised
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical and analytical support to Title III staff and college administration with respect to data needs, statistical analyses, and programmatic implementation logistics.
- Design, maintain, extract and report data from institutional, state and national databases and data warehouses (e.g. Colleague, Data Warehouse, and IPEDS).
- Assemble, compile and maintain selected data from a variety of sources, including, state reports,
other community college studies, and various standard reports for use by the Title III External Evaluator and
Director. - Assist in the preparation of project reports, statistical tables and graphs, and other materials.
- Work with the college’s IT staff to develop and maintain a statistical Title III dashboard to meet the changing needs of the college and its administrators
Other Important Functions:
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of research, surveys and knowledge of data management principles and practices including data warehousing, integrated database design, extraction and reporting
Ability To:
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
