Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Master's Degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or closely related field
Five years of administrative or management experience that includes planning, budgeting, personnel selection, supervision and evaluation
Experience with program development and assessment
Five years demonstrated experience with the development, and supervision of academic advising practices designed to maximize student engagement and success
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Intermediate skills with MS Office products

Position Description
Job Summary
Plans, implements, manages and evaluates advising and onboarding services for new and continuing students.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.
*Develop, plan, implement, manage and evaluate academic advising programming for students from diverse backgrounds in areas including academic planning, major exploration and decision- making, orientation, goal setting, and degree completion
*Develop, supervise, administer and assess transition to case-management advising model designed to maximize advisor-student engagement
*Assist Associate Vice-President for Student Services with creating and supporting the strategic direction of the Division, executing on improvement plans, and supporting cross-departmental goals
*Hire, supervise and evaluate the Academic Advising staff
*Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive student success and retention plan to include strategies and interventions informed by theory, inclusive and equitable practices, and data-informed practices that enhance student retention and graduation rates
*Develop and manage a recommended budget for areas of responsibility and monitor allocation of resources
*Provide leadership to ensure the utilization of a variety of effective and best-practice advising delivery systems and methodologies, including distance learners, in an environment conducive to provision of quality and equitable student support services and learning
*Provide oversight of student progress and academic standing monitoring in order to proactively and, when necessary, intrusively intervene, advocate, and recommend resources and solutions to academic difficulties and barriers student experience
*Provide leadership in the implementation and assessment of any software or technology related to the student life cycle, early alert, or other related student success initiatives
*Develop, supervise, administer and assess new student orientation program designed to enhance onboarding of new students
*Develop, monitor and regularly update department's institutional effectiveness plan
Develop, supervise, administer and assess student wellness program focused on providing counseling and referral services to empower students to resolve problems and reach personal and academic goals
Participate in the development of agreements with four-year colleges to promote transfer opportunities for all Wake Tech students
Collaborate with other Enrollment and Student Services staff, as well as Faculty, to plan, develop and execute programming designed to increase student success, retention, and completion
Provide administrative guidance and oversight to Student Services professional staff at Western Wake and Public Safety Education Campus
Completes annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
