Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree or higher in an area relevant to the courses and curriculum offerings in the Applied Engineering and Technologies division.  

Three years demonstrated administrative and managerial ability 

Three years teaching experience in the area of deanship

Position Description

Pay Grade: Manager 9

 This position is responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the Applied Engineering and Technologies division.  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. *Provides leadership and direction for division department heads, faculty, and staff
*Provides oversight and ensures quality control for the Associate in Applied Science degree diploma and certificate programs, as well as courses chosen by the AET division

*Informs the Provost, Career Programs, about the operation of the division and apprised of challenges and opportunities

*Develops a division-wide institutional effectiveness plan

*Develops assessment plans for core competencies and student learning outcomes

* Supervises and evaluates department heads, faculty, staff and division administrative staff
*Manages budget allotments and requisition of future funds

Assists in the recruitment, selection and orientation of division, department heads, faculty and staff

Plans and conducts regular division and department head meetings      

Facilitates department head, faculty, and staff in-service trainings and professional development   

Collaborates with college Deans to insure cohesiveness of courses needed for articulation opportunities           
Evaluates transcripts, course substitutions, and graduation audits to ensure students are awarded appropriate transfer credit

Develops student retention plans      
Reviews, recommends changes in curricula and prepares new curricula proposals

Gathers, organizes, and archives information related to division personnel, programs, services and resources 

Monitors enrollment in AET division courses and makes adjustments as necessary

Assures internal and external collaboration and communication with students, other college areas, systems office, business and industry, community groups, individuals and other external agencies that support the mission, goals, polices, and procedures of the College and the Division 

Pursues and manages grant funding and gifts awarded to the division

Participates in graduation exercises

Excellent human relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel 
Effective collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving, and team-building skills
