Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree with eighteen hours from a regionally accredited institution in one of the disciplines /programs in the Division. Five years of experience as a faculty member in a post-secondary institution. Three to five years of successful experience in educational administration, preferably at the Community College level is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in teaching online courses is preferred. A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

The Dean of Arts and Sciences provides leadership for and management of division's institutional effectiveness plan and activities; serves as the liaison between faculty/staff and administration; monitors and/or conduct annual performance evaluations for department chairs, the director of the College Transfer Advising Center, and the director of the Career & College Promise program, and faculty/staff in the division. The Dean of Arts and Sciences investigates the opportunity for new curricula and programs and monitors and evaluates current curricula and course offerings; serves as an instructor while teaching 3-6 hours per semester in a discipline within Arts & Sciences. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages and conducts student recruitment, advisement, registration, and retention efforts. The Dean of Arts & Sciences also supervises the Career and College Promise program and the College Transfer Advising Center. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academic and Student Services.
