Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or an appropriate college instructional discipline, AND
- Minimum of 10-15 years of direct experience in student affairs or student support programs.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- An understanding of the unique nature and role of the College and a commitment to its full mission.
- An ability to work with faculty, staff, and administrators in a process of continuous improvement.
- An ability to work with diverse student populations to identify and address their learning needs.
- An ability to employ and manage competent staff and faculty to meet the goals of the College.
- An understanding of and ability to use educational and communication technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in student affairs, counseling, or education.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills/ability to lead institutional efforts to improve retention, persistence, and completion guided initiatives such as Guided Pathways, or other related national student success movements.
- Knowledge and experience with writing/monitoring grants related to maximizing levels of student success and knowledge of state and/or federal program requirements. Leadership in academic assistance/tutoring, overseeing grant programs/initiatives, and compliance management.

Essential Duties
- In line with the College’s strategic plan, the Dean of College Access Services will co-create with staff, students and families to develop a school environment that is inclusive, relevant, and engaging to build a strong learning community.
- Act as a liaison between Student Services departments and institutional administrators.
- Develop and implement supervised departments’ working procedures, budgets, policies, and goals.
- Provide programmatic oversight and supervision of the assigned departments in the Division of Student Services, including all three Academic Assistance Centers, Writing & Reading Centers, six TRiO programs, Job Corps Scholars Program, and the Dreamkeepers fund in conjunction with the Foundation.
- Use a research-based, data-informed approach to manage, develop, coordinate, and implement purposeful academic support programs that target specific student support systems.
- Work with faculty, staff, and the administration to develop data-informed and industry-driven ideas for program improvement and investigate resources and potential strategies to develop grants and special projects in line with the college’s strategic plan.
- Work in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Services to provide programmatic direction for the College.
- Provide student support on issues related to Student Services Departments, Curriculum Departments, institutional policies, and department processes in an advocacy role.
- Conduct consistent departmental evaluations to determine efficiency and effectiveness and, if necessary, recommend ideas of improvement to the VP of Student Services.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services.
- Travel among the College’s multiple campuses is required as needed.
