Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability as a supervisor or administrator.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in a healthcare field.
  2. Experience working in a community college.
  3. Experience working in a healthcare profession.

Position Description

As an academic leader, the Dean of Health & Human Services (HHS) supports the mission to “unite with all people in our community to identify and achieve their goals through an innovative, high quality educational experience” as the College works toward a vision of being “a transformational community leader that empowers all individuals to achieve success.”

With an aim to deliver exceptional opportunities, instruction, and service to students and other stakeholders, the Dean is responsible for strategic leadership and administrative functions of the HHS Division, which includes the following:

 

  • leading and supporting faculty and staff based at multiple college locations
  • responding to student needs from recruitment to post-graduation
  • planning and developing programs (curriculum and continuing education)
  • ensuring educational quality, integrity, and compliance
  • overseeing program accreditation
  • developing and managing division budgets consistent with college policy
  • driving continuous improvement initiatives informed by institutional data
  • promoting strong relations with external stakeholders, such as employers, clinical sites, community agencies, and other educators
  • providing general service to the college, including additional duties as assigned

The Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Workforce Development (Chief Academic Officer) and serves on the academic leadership team.
