Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Leadership / management experience in a community college setting

Proficient with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel

Excellent diplomatic, negotiation, and collaboration skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking

Proficient in data analysis used for decision making

Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel

Knowledge of automated library systems and other standard library hardware

Functional knowledge of public services, reference, technical services

Knowledge of a full range of library procedures and routine processes

Ability to teach library bibliographic instruction and information literacy concepts to new students


ALA Accredited Master's degree in Library or Information Science

Five years' experience working in a library

Three years supervisory experience

Demonstrated experience in management and library administration

Two years  expertise using online library systems and electronic resources

Position Description

Pay Grade: Manager 9

This position provides oversight and leadership for Library operations for each campus.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

* Provides leadership and supervision for division staff

* Projects needs and secures staff, supplies, equipment, and facilities for the division

* Manages budget allotments and requisitions of future funds

* Continuously enhances the quality of resources and increases operational efficiency within the libraries

* Develops relevant institutional effectiveness goals for the division

Assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of division staff

Plans and conducts regular division meetings

Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Manages division information by: gathering, organizing, and archiving information related to division personnel, programs, services, and resources

Guides the use and dissemination of division information

Analyzes and utilizes information for planning, budgeting, reporting, and related activities

Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
