Position Description

Job Summary:

The Mooresville Campus Dean is responsible for the operations of the Mooresville Campus and works with the President and Vice Presidents collaboratively to coordinate programs, classes, and special events designed to meet the educational needs of the Mooresville/South Iredell area. Consistent with the College’s stated goals and objectives, programs included at the center are both curriculum and continuing education. The Mooresville Campus Dean is responsible for oversight of all day-to-day activities and operations including the supervision of the Campus’s full-time and part-time faculty and staff.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Coordinates with the Vice President for Student Services the supervision of on-site counselors and student service activities such as on-site registrations, recruitment and activities
2. Coordinates with the Vice President for Instruction and Chief Academic Officer the development, scheduling, and monitoring of curriculum classes and programs
3. Coordinates with the Vice President for Continuing Education the continuing education programs including assisting with the development, scheduling, and monitoring of continuing education classes and programs
4. General duties and responsibilities include:
a. Organize, implement and administer programs and classes at the Mooresville Campus and off-campus sites to meet the education and training needs in the area
b. Assist with the development of curriculum programs, scheduling of classes each semester with the appropriate Dean, and the promotion of those classes to the Mooresville – South Iredell community
c. Provide leadership in developing and executing the College’s Institutional Effectiveness Plan with respect to Mooresville Campus activities and accreditation requirements
d. Provide oversight for the development and management of budgetary issues for the Mooresville Campus
e. Recruit, recommend for employment, and evaluate instructors for the programs and classes offered at the center
f. Coordinate classroom visitation
g. Order and maintain necessary administrative and instructional equipment, audiovisuals, supplies, and instructor demonstration materials in support of identified programs
h. Develop relationships with area business and industry contacts to meet local training needs
i. Monitor maintenance activities at the campus
j. Coordinate the delivery and sale of textbooks and supplies with the College bookstore and business office
k. Monitor receipts and mail courier
l. Serve as the College representative for community activities
m. Serve on college committees
