Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's degree required
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience as a Program Coordinator, Dean or Vice President
  3. 3 to 5 years of experience leading many facets of Student Services, as well as, some administrative experience with Continuing Education

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Doctoral preferred
  2. Knowledge and training with SACSCOC, OSHA, EPA, and ADA
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and management skills particularly in planning and budget
  4. Ability to work effectively with individuals, organizations and community groups

Position Description

Job Summary

To plan, manage, direct, supervise, evaluate, and implement all policies, rules, procedures, and personnel concerned with Student Services and Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

 

Essential Duties/Functions:

Student Services:

Registration

  1. Supervise and coordinate the registration process
  2. Prepare enrollment updates

Enrollment Management

  1. Work with the Dean of Academic Affairs to provide data and observation to inform semester

            schedule of classes

  1. Help to develop and encourage student usage of guided pathways

Outreach and Recruitment

  1. Make presentations to high school groups
  2. Conduct tours of the campus for the purpose of recruiting
  3. Work with the Colleges feeder and resident high school to facilitate opportunities for dual credit
  4. Create and oversee the dual enrollment program

Financial Aid and Scholarships

  1. Ensure compliance with FASA requirements and distribution
  2. Work with the College’s Foundation to oversee their scholarship program

Transfer and job replacement

  1. Coordinate 4-year College visits to the College and transfer activities for students
  2. Create a job placement center and oversee employee recruitment activities on the campus
  3. Work with Faculty to assist with transfer and job placement

Graduation

  1. Create a process to help ensure that students have fulfilled the graduation requirements
  2. Coordinate all aspects of the graduation ceremony (i.e. date, speakers, student readiness)

Student Development

  1. Administer disciplinary actions according to college policy

Student Activities

  1. Monitor the student lounge
  2. Ensure there are appropriate and ample student activities
  3. Oversee student activities

Continuing Education:

Program Development and Oversight

  1. Create awareness of programs
  2. Assess needs, develop programs, and create delivery strategies which are responsive to community needs
  3. Promote articulation and partnerships between business/industry and health/community service organizations
  4. Continuous interaction with business and industry to responsively deliver workforce training
  5. Create programs to prepare individuals for the 21st century workforce
  6. Cooperate in the development and delivery of global workforce development training

Administrative Function:

Budget and Planning

  1. Develop and assess yearly goals
  2. Develop and monitor the budget for Student Services and Continuing Education
  3. Take a lead in short and long term planning for the departments

College Representation

  1. Represent the College in a positive manner to the public and in relevant local, state and national venues
  2. Ensure that your office areas are welcoming and inviting to visitors

Supervision of Personnel

  1. Recommend for employment full-time and part-time personnel following the College’s hiring process
  2. Supervise and evaluate employees of Student Services and Continuing Education departments
  3. Arrange, encourage and monitor the ongoing education and training for staff

College Governance

  1. Participate on appropriate College committees
  2. Prepare and make presentations to the Board of Trustees
