Position Description
Statement of Primary Purpose
Provide proactive leadership and direction to the Student Services Division which promotes student enrollment growth, creates effective student-centered services and programming, review and recommend institutional policies and procedures that are appropriate and responsive to SCC’s student body needs, and conduct yearly evaluation of staff and services to maximize the SCC student experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Supervision is provided for a wide range of services, including outreach/recruitment and the admission of curriculum students; career planning and job placement; enrollment counseling; and the college testing program which includes the administration of a standardized placement test and entrance examinations for specialized programs of study in the health field.
- Develop and implement comprehensive procedures, processes, budgets, policies and goals for the division.
- Maintain an effective and productive relationship with k-12 public schools and private schools.
- Ensure the development and implementation of CCP programming in service area schools.
- Provide administrative functions for the student concerns portal reporting system
- Ensure the development and implementation of an annual enrollment management plan to guide strategic admissions outreach/recruitment strategies for prospective students
- Work cooperatively with the Public Information Office to create recruitment publications and implement marketing strategies
- Ensure the accuracy of student/enrollment services information included in the college catalog and student handbook
- Promote an environment conducive to student-centric service.
- Coordinate with academic deans to ensure Student Services processes meet their division needs.
- Review and approve student services 3rd party software platforms.
- Oversee the process for admitting students and monitor the acceptance of candidates into those programs with selective admissions requirement
- Safeguard the integrity of the admissions process, student records, financial aid award process and the registration process
- Oversee the new student orientation and registration process
- Maintain effective testing, enrollment counseling, career counseling, and personal counseling services to students and prospective students
- Provide college leadership and training regarding FERPA policy and best practice.
- Plan and implement an annual budget and activities that enhance student life
- Assist each service area supervisor with the development of annual budgets and goals.
- Provide periodic review of student services related policies and procedures and make recommendations for revision and expansion to the EVP
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide service and leadership to college committees as assigned
- Serve as Conduct Officer for the College as designated by the EVP: administer student conduct policies, initiate disciplinary actions, ensure student due process, and maintain conduct records.
- Serve as Title IX Coordinator for students and ensure college compliance with associated federal laws and regulations
- Provide leadership and support for student success grants
- Facilitate Student Life leadership training and faculty club training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master’s in higher education administration or related field required
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 4 years progressive experience in administrative roles in student services
- Demonstrated success in providing student services and implementing effective student programming
- Strong managerial organizational leadership skills
- Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A good working knowledge of a student information system
- A good working knowledge of marketing and recruiting
- Ability to work well in a team environment and build teams

Typical campus environment; work may be performed in different campus locations.

Extended hours during peak service periods such as registration; occasional travel
