Minimum Qualifications

Requires Master’s degree or above in Education, Leadership, Curriculum Development or related Technical and Manufacturing program area from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning; experience managing budgets and writing grants; proficiency in MS Office Suite; obtain and maintain NC Department of Public Safety (prisons) clearance and COVID-19 vaccinations; working knowledge of Colleague, LMS, Webadvisor and Aviso; ability to work flexible hours; and must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Community College teaching and/or administration experience preferred.

Position Description

Responsible for the organization, administration, and supervision of the Technical and Manufacturing department at Piedmont Community College. This includes the oversight and planning of the proposed Advanced Technology Center (ATC).

Creates programming schedule for both curriculum and continuing education in all areas related to technical, manufacturing, construction, and trades. Provides supervision and evaluation for hiring, observation assessment, and instruction in these programs. Ensures Customized Training Programs meets Person and Caswell industry needs and reports are completed accurately and timely. Works cohesively with external and internal partners, including the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The Dean will work with the Vice President of Instruction to implement and support the College’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan, write and manage grants, and provide financial oversight for department budgets.
