  • MBA or a Master’s degree in a workforce training related area with six years experience or an equivalent combination of training and education
  • Six years of related management/supervisory experience in a community college or business and industry sector

Position Description

  • Prepare, recommend, and administer the annual budgets for the division and its departments, and remain informed on sources of income, especially federal and state aid, to support it; monitors budgets versus actual revenue and expenses.  Develops and implements contingency plans as needed.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate non-credit educational services and programs to meet the workforce and economic needs of community and business and industry sectors; develop instructional, operations, and fiscal reports to comply with college and regulatory/funding agency requirements and prepare annual report of division operations including annual statistical report
  • Plan, develop, and implement innovative partnerships with business and industry in the community to foster a supportive economic development environment including contract and community education; manage and coordinate the development of educational services to support local economic development initiatives by collaborating with area economic development agencies to develop business recruitment and expansion strategies that further the interest of the College and the Service District. Program development will include both credit and noncredit.
  • Develops, implements, and plans for Corporate Learning Workforce training; plans local, statewide and regional conferences, seminars, and special events relative to workforce, professional, and economic development and the global economy.
  • Collaborates with the administration and faculty on the academic side of the college to joint venture in development of new workforce programs to enhance workforce development; direct the divisions' marketing activities to create awareness of utilization of credit and noncredit educational services; serves as a liaison between the division and other divisions and areas of instruction and administration; incumbent must be able to work collegially with internal and external constituents of the college;  works collaboratively with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to support SACSCOC accreditation and continuous quality improvements initiatives at the college.  Provides the overall leadership for the division in meeting the strategic plan 2017-2022.
  • Serves as a member of the President’s Executive Council; on various college committees as assigned; on various state and local workforce and economic advisory councils. 
  • Develop and present program proposal and grant applications, and negotiate contractual documents for educational services and joint ventures with public and private agencies; negotiate contracts, Memorandum of Understandings, and agreements with college clients to develop and implement program initiatives and partnerships; facilitate the processing of grant applications with federal, state, and local funding agencies.
  • Provide professional leadership and supervision in recruiting, developing and appraising staff members within the area of delegated responsibility; must complete at least 20 clock hours annually of professional development activities that may include conferences, seminars, projects, research, completing college courses or other activity.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Vice-President or President of the College.
