Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold a baccalaureate degree or higher.
- Must have had instruction in educational theory and methodology, e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement and evaluation.
- Must be a Dental Assisting National Board Certified Dental Assistant or dentist licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Must have occupational experience in the application of fourhanded dentistry principles, either as a dental assistant or working with a chairside assistant.

Position Description
In support of the overall Learning College, the Dental Assisting Instructor will teach/educate students in the Dental Assisting Program. The position is funded for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with students, colleagues, staff and administrators as an individual or as part of a team.
- Deliver courses utilizing a variety of teaching methods which may include a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid
- Recruit and advise students in the Dental Assisting program
- Assist director with program assessment.
- Provide quality instruction, in alignment with CODA accreditation standards, in a variety of dental assisting courses in the program, lab, lecture and clinical.
- Aid with clinical coordination
- Collaborate with Mountain Area Regional Health Education (MAHEC) partners in maintaining relationship/partnership
- Participate in advisory committee and program meetings
- Serve as an ambassador in the community for Isothermal Community College and Criminal Justice
- Maintain and update certifications pertinent to program
- Perform expectations of a faculty member, including maintaining student office hours, as stated in the Full-Time Faculty Job Description
- Other duties as assigned
