Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
With knowledge in:
Principles and practices of organization and management.
Principles of curriculum design, including a basic understanding of the NCCCS programmatic standards.
Principles of instructional methodologies and pedagogy.

Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s in Adult Education or Education from an accredited college or university.

Position Description

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this critical, full-time position. The ability to successfully innovate, develop/update, and manage multiple programs is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in project management and supervision are essential criteria for success. Qualified candidates will possess the ability and experience to engage and collaborate with industry and community partners to create and continually improve programs. The qualified candidate for this position will possess an understanding of academic and labor market data and demonstrate the ability to make data driven decisions to continuously improve upon student success measures used to assess the College’s performance. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives related to assigned department.

Perform overall coordination duties for the department, including coordination and monitoring of curriculum development and review activities.

Assist the Dean in marketing assigned department/programs; provide input on marketing materials and literature for distribution to potential students; make presentations to schools, organizations, and other contacts.

Coordinate the program advisory committee for the department/program.

Coordinate with faculty and staff to discuss and potentially implement procedures and suggestions by the Program Advisory Board Membership for continuous improvements.

Provide input to the Dean on program budget needs to include part-time salaries, supplies, equipment, travel, and other costs.

Monitor all expenditures for cost effectiveness and efficiency of departmental/program operations.

Develop, review, and recommend new or modified course outlines, supplies, materials, and textbooks; maintain currency of instructional techniques and methods.

Provide to the Dean proposed revisions and updates of course outlines and syllabi for approval.

Assist the Dean with identifying and recruiting potential faculty for the department/program; participate in interview process; provide initial departmental/program orientations and trainings to new hires, especially adjunct faculty who are new to the College.

Assist the Dean with scheduling and staffing for all classes in the department, including monitoring classes for effectiveness and efficiency of operations.

Provide written input to the Dean on the evaluation of faculty and staff assigned within the department, as deemed appropriate by the Dean and/or Associate Vice President for Corporate and Continuing Education.

Recommend to the Dean courses that could be offered face-to-face, hybrid, or via distance learning techniques and coordinate with faculty members to teach new courses; coordinate enrollment with faculty to complete the on-boarding process and Certified Online Instructor (COI) courses.

Coordinate and assist in maintaining, securing, and keeping account records of equipment inventory, as appropriate.

Submit a Personal and Professional Development Plan to the Dean on an annual basis and ensure faculty assigned to the department/program also provides a well-thought out plan for improvement tied to instructional targets as well as content and job performance goals.

Participate in student advisement and registration processes.

Make appropriate recommendations to the Dean on student graduation readiness.

Resolve complaints or problems among faculty, staff, and students within the department and advise the Dean of potential escalation of problems, as appropriate.

Verify accuracy and timely submission of rosters and final grade rosters for faculty members assigned to the department.

Assist with classroom verification.

Comply with the instructional responsibilities as explained in the job description for instructional faculty.

Conduct classroom observations and document feedback for full-time and part-time faculty.

Perform other duties as assigned including administrative responsibilities for teaching faculty.
