Minimum Qualifications
· Associates degree in a computer related field
· Proficiency in Windows 10 operating system to include installation, configuration, diagnosis and problem resolution
· Proficiency in PC hardware support to include installation, configuration, diagnosis and problem resolution
· Proficiency in installation and configuration of printers
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb and work on ladders up to 10 feet tall
· Note: The successful candidate must provide proof of valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
· One or more years of computer support or related experience
· IT support technician certifications
· Proficiency in all MS Office products
· Proficiency in Apple iOS to include installation, configuration, diagnosis and problem resolution
· Knowledge of MS Server 2012 and higher
· Previous experience with supporting A/V equipment
· Previous experience with Microsoft SCCM
· Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
· Working knowledge of computer networks
· Working knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V
· A customer-oriented attitude and desire to help others succeed
· Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
· Personal and professional integrity which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start
· Committed to providing quality customer service

Position Description
Job Description
The Desktop Support Technician (DST) is a full-time, 12-month position located primarily in Union County and will be expected to provide occasional desktop support in Anson County. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer, the DST supports computer users at all SPCC locations including academic labs, learning resources centers, and libraries.
Job Duties
The DST’s responsibilities fall into three distinct categories: computer systems maintenance, end user support, and resource management tasks. Specifically, under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer, the DST will:
· Maintain computer systems and provide audio/visual support:
o Install and maintain microcomputer systems
o Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware
o Diagnose and repair standard software malfunctions
o Perform preventative maintenance on computers
o Install and maintain approved printers and other computer peripherals
o Connect college-owned computers to the college network
o Troubleshoot and correct network access problems
o Add computers to the Active Directory domain
o Troubleshoot audio/visual systems
o Maintain audio/visual systems
· Support end users:
o Assist users with hardware and software questions
o Provide ITS support as needed for events on and off campus
o Provide simple instructions to users about changes in the hardware and/or software
· Manage technology resources:
o Maintain an inventory of technology resources
o Maintain work areas, tools, and software in an orderly manner
o Maintain a log of computer installations, upgrades, and repairs
The Desktop Support Technician will also complete other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer.
