Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher • At least two years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable and cashiering principles • Previous experience in a supervisory capacity • Experience or knowledge of collections laws, regulations, and practices • Leadership and supervisory skills • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Good negotiation and problem-solving skills. • Ability to keep information confidential
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration • Experience in student receivables at a college or university • Experience with an automated accounts receivable database system – preferably Colleague
Position Description
• Ensure proper accounting of revenue funds incoming to the College • Assist students with plan for financing their education – set up payment plans • Maintain schedule for invoicing and collections of student receivables • Ensure proper processing of payments and refunds (credit balances) • Coordinate student records and procedures from various offices on-campus including Registrar, Financial Aid, Enrollment, etc. • Work with the Executive Director regarding reconciliation of accounts relating to accounts receivable • Implement all College policies as they relate to receivables and collections • Develop and maintain office policies, controls, and procedures • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations • Keep current on the use of administrative technology including upgrades • Work with the bank, collection agencies, and Bank Mobile, etc. • Focus on continuous improvement in customer service Supervisory Duties: • Provide leadership of assigned team, lead efforts in recruitment, interviewing, and training employees; plan, assign, and direct departmental work. • Coordinate interdepartmental goals to ensure alignment with college goals and vision. • Coach and provide ongoing performance feedback to employees, set realistic and measurable performance goals and ensure employees have appropriate professional development opportunities. Effectively manage performance and assist employees to meet established College standards and expectations.
