Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree 

Five years of experience in institutional effectiveness outcome assessment, program auditing, compliance review, quality control or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience  

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in education, higher education, evaluation and research methods, or other relevant discipline 

Demonstrated success in meeting higher education accreditation standards 

Five years of progressive leadership experience in higher education

Experience analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data

Position Description

The Director of Accreditation and Compliance ensures that the college maintains its eligibility for financial and other benefits associated with higher education institutions by meeting federal requirements, national authorizations, regional accreditation standards, state regulations, North Carolina Community College System codes and procedures, educational program approvals, generally accepted quality assurance practices, and its own policies.  

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

* Takes primary and direct responsibility for the department’s implementation of the college’s accreditation, accountability, compliance, and quality review and reporting processes 

* Submits various vital reports in a timely manner to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Wake Tech Community College’s current regional accreditor 

* Prepares and submits designated state, federal, and regional reports as required ensuring information is accurate and timely 

* Manages accreditation and compliance processes by coordinating employees, documentation, deliverables, and events, including reaffirmation/renewal and update/change processes

* Develops and implements effective systems for tracking and ensuring compliance and submission of all required accreditation and compliance documentation across the institution 

* Notifies, as required, accrediting/approval bodies in advance of updates/ changes and program developments in accordance with state, federal regional accreditation, and approval bodies policies

* Collaborates with all areas of the college to ensure planning, assessment and evaluation processes meet accreditation standards 

* Works with all areas of the college to review the qualifications of key administrators and faculty members to assure that all meet accreditation and approval requirements

Oversees the development of and maintenance of information resources that support the college’s accreditation, accountability, compliance, and quality review and reporting processes to include web pages and share drives  

Assures the department’s accountability to federal, regional, state, and local agencies, as well as the college’s expectations 

Plans for and manages the department’s on-site and remote personnel, providing leadership and direction for the area’s employees 

Attends, develops and delivers training, as needed, regarding accreditation and compliance 

Researches best practices, including benchmarking other institutions, to improve accreditation and compliance processes

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Ability to work effectively with key campus positions though local, auxiliary supervision without formal chain of command

Excellent diplomatic, negotiation, and collaboration skills 

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking 

Proficiency in research, information curation, and data analysis used for decision making Intermediate proficiency with office suite software, such as MS Word and Excel 

Demonstrated proficiency in using technology platforms associated with accreditation and compliance, as well as student information systems 

Excellent project management, organization, and time management skills 

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and administrators, maintaining good working relationships across the college 

Ability work through ambiguity with excellent problem-solving skills 

Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities 

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
