Bachelor's degree required.
Three years' experience in business, marketing, human resources or a related field required.
This position requires a highly motivated team-player with the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, as well as, develop and maintain collaborative relationships inside and outside of the college.
Must possess a student-centered advisement philosophy and demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, school administrators at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
Experience related to job, internships, and/or job shadowing placements, career and technical education, career development highly preferred.
Responsible for providing enhanced educational opportunities for students by recruiting CVCC programs to participate in work-based learning opportunities.
Collaborate with CVCC faculty and community to promote strong alignment of curricula with community employment needs to support businesses regarding their immediate and long-term employment needs.
Facilitate connections with students and college personnel to build strong partnerships with industry and, through these partnerships, create opportunities for CVCC students and alumni to gain valuable job skills tied to their program of study.
Increase the number of business relationships by researching, calling and visiting businesses each week to coordinate and promote part-time, full-time and work-based learning opportunities for students and alumni.
Develop business and community partnerships through collaboration with faculty and staff, advisory board, professional organizations, community outreach, researching businesses and face-to face meetings to learn more about industry needs.
Assist in the development of the metrics for tracking work-based learning/job placement initiatives and impact.
Coordinate with the Center's Department Head in planning special events, such as targeted job fairs, on-campus recruiting, guest speakers, workshops.
Ensure adequate staffing/volunteers and coordination of venues and venue set-up for the Center's events.
Work with marketing department to create advertisements, articles, brochures, weekly announcements, monthly newsletter, and other marketing material.
Communicate with team members in developing, soliciting, and reviewing employer feedback on the Center's special events.
Facilitate procurement/budgeting activities for the Center's events, in accordance with the Center's Department Head.
Research and evaluate measures of effectiveness of targeted employer based events.
Attend local and state meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapid changing workforce.
May require overnight travel.
Work a minimum of forty hours per week, plus other hours as needed to complete job duties.
Some evening and weekend hours are required.
Perform other duties, as required.
