Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
· Three years’ experience developing collaborative partnerships to further economic or workforce development and developing training systems to support workforce development in diverse settings
· Experience creating workforce development strategies, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions to internal and external stakeholders
· Demonstrated organizational, administrative, tactical, analytical, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Superior analytical and problem solving skills
· Superior customer service, specifically related to assessing business needs and crafting tailored solutions to improve their business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree
· Five years related experience with the North Carolina Community College System, North Carolina E-Procurement, or administering Customized Training Programs or similar incumbent worker training programs
· Working knowledge of economic and workforce development processes, concepts, and tools; including 5+ years of relevant experience with workforce development funding, government contract management, vendor agreements, budget management, and forecasting

Job Description
Under the direction of the Vice President of Business Solutions, the Director of Corporate Education and Training is responsible for organizing, implementing, and administering the Customized Training Program (CTP), Corporate Training, and other Workforce Development training programs. The position works collaboratively with internal and external entities to cultivate positive and mutually beneficial relationships that facilitate the development and delivery of customized training which will meet the needs of all businesses and industries in Union and Anson counties.
Job Duties
· Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to South Piedmont Community College as a learning-centered college through the College’s mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and services
· Serve as an external representative for South Piedmont Community College related to workforce resources, including NCWorks Customized Training, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and other state and federal sources of workforce funding
· Solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions and processes for business and industry to support talent recruitment, skill enhancement, and employee retention
· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Chambers of Commerce, regional and statewide economic development agencies, NC Community College system networks, and other appropriate business and professional organizations
· Provide management for all sponsored programs, including budgets, reports, deliverables, evaluations, etc. assigned to the office in accordance with accepted guidelines and accounting principles of North Carolina and the funding agency
· Develop strategies for providing services for all service sectors with local, state, and national entities
· Respond to inquiries regarding Customized Training, while assisting in recruitment and retention efforts for the CTP and Corporate Training classes
· Manage multiple economic incentive and grant funded projects while maintaining compliance and contractual obligations
· Identify, research, and develop workforce development strategies and grant funding opportunities for supporting of workforce solutions, including apprenticeships and new program development
· Assess current reporting processes and upgrade or streamline where possible in collaboration with college and state business offices
· Foster relationships with internal and external partners to effectively carry out the purpose of business and industry training services, including NCWorks Customized Training, Professional Development, and Corporate Training
· Market, develop, coordinate, and manage customized training programs for business and industries in South Piedmont Community College’s service area
· Promote customized training internally and externally by developing strong and collaborative relationships, marketing programs at community events and civic organizations, developing and distributing promotional materials, updating social media posts, and participating in job fairs and career days
· Provide assessments of employer workforce needs to develop value-added programs, and initiate strong post-service practices for individual programs or projects
· Support the efforts of colleagues college-wide on special projects which represent the college as an integral part of the community
· Facilitate the collection of program information, student information, program outcomes, data collection, and data analysis
· Collaboratively work cross-departmentally to ensure administrative tasks regarding class scheduling, coding, contracting, and billing are complete in a timely manner
· Recruit and select instructors for customized training and related programs within the purview of the Business Solutions area
· Submit all hiring documents, contracts, professional services agreements, and verification of credentials for all CTP personnel
· Orient new faculty to applicable College policies and procedures, including establishing necessary accesses to systems required for instruction
· Facilitates the selection and ordering of CTP books and materials
· Reviews, evaluates, and assesses the CTP programs periodically, facilitating innovation in curricular and instructional development in keeping with the mission and vision of the College
· Ensure CTP programs are in full compliance with the requirements for accreditation, certification, and other standards as stipulated by NCCCS
· Coordinates the requisition of resources and services, including equipment, supplies, facilities and other materials required for the effective delivery of instruction
· Manages the CTP budget, regularly monitoring the status of expenditures and implementing inventory control methods
· Work independently and address the needs of the business and industry community in a timely and service-oriented fashion and maintain strict confidentiality
· Work may require hours outside of the regular work week including nights, mornings, and weekends
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Business Solutions
