Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, or technically related field plus good working knowledge of industry and how to incorporate training into their methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum requirements plus: at least five years of experience in training within an industrial environment; knowledge or specialty in some industrial deliverables such as safety, quality, productivity, problem solving, manufacturing processes, leadership skills, etc.; working knowledge of / employment experience with businesses and industries in College’s service area
Position Description
Responsible for managing the Customized Training Programs; performs any continuing education requirements for business and industry services; plans and develops programs for industry; and maintains an industry advisory board.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Manage budgets within the business and industry department pertaining to Customized Training Programs and complete all state reports in a timely manner. Participate in recruiting, interviewing and procuring part-time instructors within the department. Maintain and coordinate an industrial advisory committee for the department. Consult and coordinate projects deemed important to Edgecombe Community College and its industry base. Develop and maintain contacts within industry of the county and state where necessary. Attend meetings at the local and state level when deemed necessary. Teach courses when appropriate; maintain appropriate certifications to support roles as instructor and/or consultant. Maintain all necessary paperwork required by the College, NCCCS and agencies. Serve as a resource for industry by giving guidance and coordination for training to include training from vendors or contractors. Provide customized training to local industry through special funding (i.e. 364). Provide open enrollment course for local businesses and industries. Support and promote participation in curriculum programs with Business and Industry clients. Support outreach and recruiting activities. Review and update planning objectives and goals. Conduct annual program review and analysis. Identify new programs that will promote the goals of Edgecombe Community College. Collaborate with other departments to ensure projects and courses are being offered in the most effective manner. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
