Associate’s degree. Five years of facilities/maintenance experience, including demonstrated supervisory experience.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and related systems.
Ability to diagnose problems and make repairs.
Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety codes and regulations.
Ability to handle a work environment that can be stressful and to meet a variety of challenges and deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Must be able to physically perform the basic functions of grasping, reaching, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting and be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to perform maintenance-related duties as described herein for at least 8 hours per day. Additional hours per day may be required occasionally.
Must be able to walk continuously and at times on uneven surfaces.
Must be able to work in hot, cold, noisy, and/or dusty environments.
Must be able to work in tight or confined spaces and at heights.
Must maintain valid Driver’s License.
Bachelor’s degree. Electrical and HVAC experience. General contractor’s license.
Plan and coordinate diversified activities related to the operation and maintenance of all buildings and grounds and associated plant equipment owned by the college to include ongoing operation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, automotive, painting and associated maintenance and distribution systems to ensure the needs of the college are met in an economical and effective manner.
Supervise the maintenance and custodial personnel and monitor work performance for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with established departmental standards and expectations.
Coordinate major task assignments and schedules ensuring adequate and facilities for the performance of duties.
Monitor work operations to ensure compliance with and adherence to health and safety codes and regulations.
Direct a variety of division personnel activities to include, but not limited to, recommendation for employment, performance evaluations and recommendations for promotions, transfer, and disciplinary actions.
Determine work schedule for maintenance and custodial personnel on a daily basis
Schedule and manage outside contractors for repairs and projects.
Supervise and coordinate operation and maintenance of equipment.
Recommend new and/or replacement of equipment as needed.
Supervise the preparation of monthly time sheets for payroll and Fair Labor Standards Act purposes.
Evaluate and recommend tools and equipment issued to custodial and maintenance personnel.
Direct the trouble-shooting, of electrical, mechanical, and related systems and arrange for repair or replacement of such systems.
Determine supplies needed for plant operations and maintenance activities.
Prepare annual budget requests.
Remain updated on latest technologies, equipment, and practices.
Participate in the installation of new and/or replacement parts and equipment.
Serve as an essential employee for emergency operations affecting college functions. Available 24 hours/seven days a week for all related incidents.
Collaborate with Campus Security regarding security issues.
Serve on various college committees as required or assigned.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
