Minimum Qualifications

1. Education, background, and/or training equivalent to a bachelor’s degree required.
2. Two years’ experience in financial aid experience required.
3. Education and/or experience in accounting or related field required.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Experience in supervision and administration in higher education, preferably in a community college.
3. Experience in VA Education Benefit Programs preferred.
4. Experience with Datatel/Colleague preferred.

Position Description

The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for developing and administering a student aid program consisting of scholarships, grants, loans, Federal Work-Study, and Veterans Affairs at the College.

  • Responsible for supervising and directing the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office.
  • Develop, implement and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and college policies related to financial aid and scholarships.
  • Complete federal and state reports pertaining to financial aid.
  • Manage VA Education Benefit Programs.
  • Establish and maintain accurate records regarding aid applicants and disbursement of funds.
