Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Three years of supervisory experience
Three years' work experience with financial aid, admissions, or related in higher education
Experience working with of federal and state regulations governing various types of aid
Preferred Qualifications
Two years' experience in financial aid office
Three years of experience in Ellucian Colleague
Position Description
This position is primarily responsible for the management of the financial aid appeals process, dependency override process, and supervision of the support staff at South Campus.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Provides supervision and leadership to financial aid support staff at the South Campus
*Maintains an ongoing understanding of the federal regulations regarding verification and general financial aid processes
*Assures accurate financial aid information and resources is provided to students and parents by training financial aid support staff
*Ensures division and department customer service standards are maintained
*Manages the financial aid satisfactory academic progress appeals processes and develops academic plans for students that are placed on financial aid probation
*Determines students’ eligibility for various financial aid programs by evaluating their application and documentation
*Counsels current and potential students, parents, and college personnel regarding available sources of financial aid and eligibility requirements
*Serves as liaison to other WTCC offices in matters relating to the Financial Aid Office
Works as part of the Financial Aid Office team to deliver high-quality customer service
Informs, advises, and assists students with financial aid applications, documents, programs, and procedures
Performs verification on student files that are selected by the U.S. Department of Education and/or Wake Technical Community College and makes corrections to student’s financial aid application when applicable
Generates and sends correspondence to students regarding the status of their financial aid application process and any identifying conflicting information
Conducts financial aid informational presentations at meetings, workshops, and events
Attends training events to learn and stay current regarding policies, procedures, and requirements for Financial Aid programs
Monitors the Financial Aid e-mail, phone log, Contact Form, QLess, etc. to ensure questions and concerns are answered in a professional and timely manner
Assists with evening schedule rotation of the Financial Aid Office staff to provide financial aid services to the evening student population
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
