Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Fire Protection Technology, Emergency Medical Science, or Emergency Management from a regionally accredited College or University; five (5) years of full-time work experience in the fire or emergency services field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above; and possess and maintain industry credentials commensurate for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Fire Protection Technology, Emergency Medical Science or Emergency Management from a regionally accredited College or University.
Position Description
The Director, Fire and Emergency Services will develop, plan, schedule, administer, and monitor fire and emergency services training courses in accordance with the institutional policy and procedure, and comply with standards mandated by the NC Office of the State Fire Marshall (OSFM), and the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS). The Director provides leadership in all phases of the fire and emergency services programs and shall act as a liaison between the communities of interest and the programs.
