Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in human resource management,
business administration, or related field
Minimum of 3 years in a management position, with supervisory responsibilities in human resources, business administration, or related field
Strong oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, organizational skills, and self-directed
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
Willingness to travel for professional development as needed
Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:

Preferred Qualifications

Position Description
The Director of Human Resources provides leadership related to human resource management with integrity, impartiality, and confidentiality. The Director is responsible for employee recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, enforcement of the disciplinary process and conflict resolution while ensuring the College meets its organizational objectives. Effective communication is essential in working collaboratively with all constituents of the College. The Director, Human Resources reports to the Vice President, Financial & Administrative Services and is accountable for:
Working with the Vice President, Financial & Administrative Services, in planning, implementing, and evaluating strategic planning related to human resources, and assists in disseminating information
Providing vision, leadership, and supervision of Human Resources staff, services and operations in the division
Consulting and advising administrators on a variety of sensitive personnel issues for the purpose of assisting in effective decision making and enforcing policies and procedures
Promoting innovation and technology with implementation of electronic forms, where applicable
Maintaining excellent working relationships with all internal and external constituents of the College and involving appropriate staff in decision-making
Developing, allocating and monitoring resources and department budget
Developing and maintaining policy guidelines, monitoring legal compliance issues as mandated by federal and state regulations, prioritizing filing deadlines per state and federal requirements, and facilitating due process procedures
Managing employee recruitment, interviewing, hiring/termination processes, benefit processes, and ongoing employee assistance
Managing periodic review of College employee benefits, implementing revisions and new benefit plans
Serving as Title IX Deputy to faculty and staff
Attending appropriate College meetings and events
Maintaining a focus on excellence in human resources and best practices including appropriate levels of confidentiality, effective communication, accuracy; and efficiency in the vacancy and hiring process, orientation, employee relations, timely and relevant performance evaluations, conflict resolution, employment separations, recordkeeping, benefits administration, and data reporting requests
Supporting supervisors to maintain accurate documentation required for personnel files and requests from outside organizations, including requests to participate in official legal or agency hearings
Representing the College in the community, attending meetings and conferences related to areas of responsibility, cultivating and maintaining effective relationships
Coordinates new hire and termination information with payroll staff
Team-building with Human Resources staff to provide a collective and collaborative environment
Maintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college
Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings
