Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field from a regionally accredited institution, or a combination of education and experience that would show demonstrated success in the role of a human resource(s).Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to use and learn different types of computer software, preferably NEOED and Colleague, knowledge of employment legislation and regulations; excellent communication skills, high level of attention to detail, ability to work independently, and to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. The preferred candidate will have North Carolina Community College System experience (or other higher education experience), and recognized HR certifications (SHRM-S/CP, a/S/PHR, IMPA-HR).
Position Description
Piedmont Community College seeks a dynamic, innovative, and proven leader to serve as Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development. Reporting to the Vice President of Administrative Services/CFO, the Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering the overall HR functions for college employees, including employment administration, compensation, benefits, employee services, and legal compliance. The Director facilitates the daily work of the HR Department; providing guidance to employees, other department managers, and senior leadership regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters; reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures; and preparing and presenting a variety of reports and correspondence. This position serves as the college business partner concerning human resource functions. This position serves on college committees as appropriate and is the primary liaison for benefits vendors and outside agencies The ideal candidate for this position will have a demonstrated record of innovation and achievement in Human Resource Management. This individual will be accountable for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the College’s HR programs, policies, and procedures.
