Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a field of study offered within the division or a bachelor's degree with significant related experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated community college educational program management/leadership and supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to collect information, perform analysis and recommend solutions.
  • Must possess a general knowledge of operation and organizational structures of a multi-campus community college environment; instructional standards, curriculum and accreditation requirements; computer software skills; file management and reporting systems; and initiating and successfully working with advisory groups and/or community agencies.

Working Conditions:

  • Infrequent lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs. without assistance
  • Frequent travel between buildings on campus and infrequent travel to other campuses
  • Frequent listening to and talking with students, faculty and other staff members
  • Frequent sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Some travel may be required

The Director of Innovation and Effectiveness supports institutional efforts to support and enhance student success and organizational effectiveness. The Director will track and analyze data results and findings from performance data, surveys (from students, industry, partners, employees, etc.), and external reports that help direct and focus the college's programs and initiatives. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of innovation, evidence, inquiry, and broad-based engagement by providing information and analysis for decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Analyzes data to enhance understanding of student experiences and effectiveness of student support strategies and interventions
  • Collaborates with college leadership to identify data analysis needs and assist in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data to meet those needs
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to create innovative solutions to address student success in alignment with the Strategic Plan
  • Oversees and supports Strategic Plan data-tracking, analysis, and dissemination
  • Initiates, designs, and implements plans to assess and/or evaluate projects focused on innovation and improvement of educational outcomes, including strategic planning and other college-wide initiatives
  • Leads and guides evaluation and improvement of the College's applied benchmarking processes
  • Chairs the Programs and Services Review Committee
  • Coordinates assessment of outcomes from all program and service areas of the College 
  • Serves as expert and consultant on assessment, including the development of outcomes, developing and deploying measures, collecting and analyzing results, reporting findings, and developing and implementing action plans 
  • Oversees administration of college-wide surveys; develops, administers and analyzes internal surveys needed for assessment and evaluation projects using sound principles of survey design and methodologies
  • Leads the preparation of technically sound yet easily accessible reports on the results of assessment and evaluation projects for internal and external presentation as well as for publication
  • Leads cross-functional teams that include employees from various service areas and levels of responsibilities in planning and assessment of projects as assigned
  • Coordinates with deans and directors in other service areas to guide assessment of educational outcomes
  • Coordinates the evaluation and analysis of key performance indicators to include, but not limited to IPEDS, NCCCS performance measures, Voluntary Framework of Accountability (VFA) and other assessment measures
  • Utilizes data reporting tools to efficiently and effectively perform queries, extract data, clean data, perform statistical analysis, and render reports through various mediums
  • Investigates and diagnoses problematic data areas, verifies data integrity, and determines and evaluates options for resolution
  • Collaborates with end users and validates reports for quality assurance
  • Translates reporting requests in order to accurately portray the information needs into usable information for quality and compliance
