Position Description
Statement of Primary Purpose
In support of the overall Learning College, the Director of Institutional Assessment and Accreditation is responsible to direct the development and implementation of a comprehensive program to enhance institutional effectiveness and ensure compliance with all accreditation guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities
- Accreditation and Accountability
- Responsible for monitoring Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) compliance guidelines and educating college faculty and staff regarding compliance issues
- Supervise and manage the preparation and distribution of reports to meet local, state, regional and national requirements and ensure SACs compliance
- Coordinate all related committees of faculty, administration, and staff to address issues of SACS reaffirmation and compliance issues
- Manage and coordinate the improvement plans and assessment reports related to student achievement initiatives, including the development and implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plans
- Research and data collection
- Direct the collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment data
- Coordinate efforts to identify and collect data related to student learning outcomes and the use of such information for the improvement of instructional and service areas
- Assessment and Continuous Improvement
- Plan and implement program review and work collaboratively with faculty and staff to guide and implement an effective program review process
- Communicate the purpose and intent of institutional assessment plans
- Implement and monitor the systematic review of programs and services in support of the college mission and strategic plan
- Assists faculty, staff, and administrators in establishing performance measures to assess their effectiveness
- Strategic Planning
- Assist the President and Vice President with the Strategic Planning Process
- Analyze findings from assessment data and make recommendations to President’s Council regarding strategic planning or continuous improvement needs
- Work collaboratively with President’s Council and college administrators to monitor strategic planning process and to provide information needed for successful implementation of strategic plan
- Prepare, maintain, and update strategic planning materials
- Management
- Develop and manage all SACS, Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Research and Planning budgets
- Work with webmaster to develop and maintain information on website to inform all stakeholders of relevant accreditation, assessment and strategic planning information
- Supervise assigned employees
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College
- Knowledge of practices, theories and concepts related to collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting research information and data
- Knowledge of administration of higher education institution and accreditation requirements and guidelines
- Demonstrated understanding of current and successful strategic and operational planning models.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and present data
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with ability to organize and set priorities
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, administration and community members in soliciting and utilizing meaningful input
- Ability to work effectively with people of varying levels of education and diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience editing and proofreading, with the ability to produce high-quality materials while adhering to multiple deadlines
- Strong writing, analytical, organization and research skills
- Strong communication skills
