Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a field related to research, organizational behavior, leadership, technology, or analytics.  Postsecondary experience in SACSCOC accreditation, assessment, planning, and research; administrative experience; knowledge of and familiarity with integrating technology and higher education practices, including spreadsheets, statistical packages, database management, word processing, and Internet based collaborative tools; sound writing abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

 A Master’s degree is preferred.

Position Description

Provides leadership for all institutional effectiveness and research activities which supply information to support institutional strategic planning, policy formulation, and decision making as well as any other processes requiring sound strategic analysis. Manages data collection, analysis, and research activities of the college and directs reporting of institutional information as required by external agencies to comply with local, state, and federal requirements. Assures compliance with NCC’s various reporting entities and accrediting agencies. Leads the college’s efforts to integrate the use of data to support instruction and other college operations with accurate and timely information. The position is responsible for frequent handling of confidential data and must maintain compliance with FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations. As such, the position is held to the highest ethical standards in supporting decision-making across the College. 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Assure the college provides accurate data for local, state, and federal reports as required. 
  • Compile, analyze, and disseminate data such as institutional characteristics, enrollment, student retention and completion, student transfer, grade distribution, and other student performance indicators. 
  • Coordinate the institutional research function for departmental or College inquiry.
  • Lead the institutional academic and operational program review process. 
  • Supervise the student evaluation of faculty process. 
  • Provide insights related to program statistics in relation to NCCCS performance measures and other student success metrics. 
  • Respond to requests for information from NCCCS and prepare reports as required. 
  • Provide leadership and assistance in NCC’s strategic planning process. 
  • Serve as the administrative lead for the Institutional Effectiveness software platform. 
  • Assists in implementing SACSCOC accreditation criteria by maintaining dialogue with SACS liaison and interpreting SACSCOC criteria to various departments and units to ensure compliance. 
  • Coordinate the creation of surveys and other data collection instruments to carry out periodic surveys of current students, graduates, and employers. 
  • Provide leadership and strategies on how the college can implement innovative methods to collect, extract, organize, verify, and research data from administrative databases and various college offices for use in official monitoring, reporting, planning and research. 
  • Serve as Campus Data Coordinator, IPEDS Keyholder, and Data Warehouse Skilled Knowledge Worker. 
  • Attend College meetings, when applicable, to stay current with curriculum changes or updates. 
  • Serve as ex-officio member of College Curriculum Review committee. 
  • Serve on the President’s Administrative Council (PAC). 
  • Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC. 
  • Participate in College events and activities. 
  • Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures. 
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC.
  • Serve on various committees as assigned. 
  • Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
