Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Education, or a closely related field. Two years of experience in education or a related field performing research or data analysis, preferably at a community college or educational institution. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software. Experience using a data analysis software package and online survey software.
Masters Degree from an accredited institution preferably in Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field. Three or more years of experience in education or a related field performing research or data analysis, preferably at a community college or educational institution. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software. Experience in the North Carolina Community College System working with Business Objects and Colleague. Knowledge and experience in using Informer, SAS or an equivalent software program, a data visualization software package such as Tableau, and an online survey software program. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people of varying levels of education and diverse backgrounds. Ability to work with others to analyze, interpret, and present data.
The Director of Institutional Research assists the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness in providing a comprehensive program of institutional research to support institutional effectiveness. This individual develops and conducts surveys; extracts, analyzes, and presents data from college information systems; conducts focused research studies; and compiles data for internal users, state and federal reports, grant applications, and curriculum development. Provides leadership for data-informed continuous improvement and Institutional Effectiveness.
