Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student development, organizational leadership or related field from a regionally accredited institution with at least two years of leadership experience in recruitment and/or admissions or a Bachelor’s degree with five years of progressive experience in college admissions and/or recruitment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work collegially with others in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish

Position Description

The Director, Recruitment & Admissions provides leadership, guidance and supervisory responsibility for the College’s overall student recruitment and admissions efforts.  Some evening and weekend hours are required as well as occasional travel.  The Director reports to the Dean, Enrollment Services and has the following responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in creating and advancing admissions strategies designed to meet the recruitment, outreach and enrollment goals of the college.
  • Develops and maintains a student-centered, enrollment learning experience for prospective and new students.
  • Works collaboratively with academic programs, faculty and the college community in establishing and achieving enrollment goals for all instructional areas of the college.
  • Oversees the implementation and assessment of a comprehensive recruitment and outreach plan and the development and management of the recruitment and admissions budget.
  • Creates and ensures equitable recruitment and admission practices, processes and procedures in the transitions of students into the higher education environment.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of residency determination, state board admissions policies and ensures the dissemination of college information to prospective students as required by federal and state law.
  • Manages the college's programs with special criteria processes and procedures.
  • Oversees international student admissions, including maintaining the college’s administrative responsibilities and reporting requirements with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) and serves as the Principal Designated School Official
  • Supervises, evaluates and provides professional development opportunities for recruitment and admissions staff
  • Serves as college liaison and representative to local community organizations, secondary schools, military, other higher education institutions, businesses, industry partners and government agencies, as it relates to recruitment, admissions and outreach initiatives.
  • Develops program and student learning outcomes for the recruitment and admissions area, monitors assessment of those outcomes and develops and implements plans of action for improvements based on the assessment of those outcomes.
  • Collaborates with financial aid, marketing and other areas of the college in the timely, accurate and appropriate development and dissemination of information and admissions materials.
  • Actively participates in planning and decision making for student success initiates; participates in campus committees; attends college and division events and meetings and represents the college as appropriate on issues related to recruitment and admissions.
  • Establishes an environment of equity, sensitivity, understanding and respect for the diversity, inclusion of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Participates in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
