Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree and three years fundraising experience, administrative experience including grant writing and development required.

Incumbent deals with staff and the public including the North Carolina Community College System, professionals and private citizens within the community, the College Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Directors, and state and county governmental officials.  Incumbent must be able to deal diplomatically with other departments enhancing the working relationship between the President’s office and other areas.  Correct conveyance of fact is important.  There is a great amount of policy interpretation.

Reports to:  Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Advancement

Supervises:  None

In collaboration with the Dean, College President, and Foundation Board of Directors, the Director of Resource Development leads all operations and activities of the Montgomery Community College Foundation.   The position is responsible for developing budgets and policies, creating fundraising campaign strategies, cultivating positive relationships with other organizations and donors, assisting with grant review and approval process, and ensuring all operations comply with legal regulations.  The position must maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy in all matters.

  • Directs all activities for the Montgomery Community College Foundation, reporting to the Dean, College President and Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Has responsibility for Foundation assets and oversees all development activities, generates new ideas for fundraising, prepares a yearly budget and provides follow-up on that budget with monthly financial statements.
  • Facilities the development program of the Foundation working closely with the Foundation's Board of Directors on all fundraising activities, which includes an annual campaign, an internal fund drive, a fall fundraiser, and a golf tournament.
  • Is responsible for the organizational aspects of the fundraising programs, staying in communication with appropriate board members and working with community members.
  • Continually updates donor information with recordkeeping to be exact and correct.
  • Works with the Vice President of Administrative Services for accurate checking, savings, and cash management account reports.
  • Works with the Financial Aid Department to develop and manage scholarships.
  • Arrange annual financial audit of the Foundation.
  • Is familiar with the tax laws and legal procedures governing this program.
  • Is a member of the President’s Administrative Cabinet, and is present at Staff, Board and Foundation meetings.
  • Is responsible for the generation of grants, assists staff in the development of proposals with an emphasis on funding identification and budget preparation, interprets requests and ensures compliance with eligibility requirements.
  • Organizes and leads awards ceremonies on campus.
  • Prepares and presents documentation for Foundation Board meetings.
  • Review grant proposal documents for additional funding sources.
  • Remains informed of grant programs awarded.
  • Required to attend all Board of Trustee meetings and functions.
  • Performs other duties related to the needs of the college as assigned by the President or Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Advancement.
