Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, College Student Personnel, Personnel Administration or related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution

Experience Required:

• Five years experience in judicial affairs/compliance within an educational setting
• Experience applying student development theory and student conduct processes, and applicable laws such as: the Clery Act, Title IX, the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (Campus SaVE) Act, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

 

Preferred Qualifications

Education Preferred:

• Juris Doctorate or other related terminal degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution

Experience Preferred:

• Greater than five years of experience in judicial affairs/compliance within an educational setting 
• Post-secondary teaching and/or counseling experience
• Experience with a conduct management software product, e.g. Maxient

Position Description

The Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards serves in the role of Lead Disciplinary Administrator for the college under the authority of the Vice President of Student Support Services, to administer college policies and procedures pertaining to student discipline, conduct and civility. S/He is responsible for managing all aspects of the Student Code of Conduct and all college policies and procedures pertaining to student discipline, including student rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Student Handbook and College Catalog; manages student conduct issues, investigates and adjudicates student conduct complaints and violations; develops materials relative to the Student Code of Conduct, counsels and educates the campus on related issues. The Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards will be a generalist in student affairs and student development and must believe in a holistic approach to helping students grow and learn. This individual will also be responsible for other institutional assignments as delegated by the Vice President; including special projects, serving on standing committees, providing leadership to college initiatives, and engaging students, as well as responding to student issues and concerns. Has responsibility for serving curriculum and non-curriculum students.
