Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, Student Services, or other related field from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, statistics, organization behavior or behavioral sciences.

Three years of professional experience in project management duties with a broad team of professionals working toward system-level continuous improvement.

Two years of experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and customizing student advising practices and procedures.

Experience in a leadership role with demonstrated communication skills to professionally represent the college to internal and external constituenci

Position Description

Provide leadership and direction to a team of success coaches and student success staff who play key roles in the QEP by assisting the College shift to an inclusive, student-centered advising process that promotes academic and non-academic success by stimulating a student’s sense of belonging and resilience, while also establishing a life-long learning mindset to drive student success throughout the student’s academic journey and beyond.

Facilitate and Direct Student Success including:

Supervise and assist success coaches with carrying out responsibilities to include: orientation sessions, survey administration, success team assignments and engagements, workshops, interactive sessions with students and reflection of career assessment and goal setting.

Develop an intentional, proactive academic success coaching program that will result in an increase in student success and completion.

Assist coaches in providing information to faculty and early alerts to students to facilitate timely interventions.

Evaluate current student success services and develop new success initiatives based on best practices.

Stay current on evidence based, best practices regarding advising practices, career planning, structured pathways and holistic advising.

Coordinate and assist with training sessions and ongoing professional development for success coaches, advisors, and other internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with deans, department chairs, program coordinators, and faculty to enable participation and increase transparency and communication flow among success teams.

Connect students to support services, engagement opportunities, and other programs and services to support student success.

Facilitate and Direct the implementation of the QEP including:

Collaborate with the Academic Division QEP Co-Chair to further assign and coordinate and evaluate QEP activities and outcomes provided by the QEP.

Implementation and Assessment Committees and other subcommittees formed to aid with project implementation.

Ensure implementation milestones are met as defined in the QEP implementation plan.

Manage data collection and assessment tasks in concert with the Assessment Committee and provide data-measured outcomes to the supervisor within 7 days of expected completion as outlined in the QEP Plan.

Meet frequently with QEP committees to discuss QEP implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.

Manage all documentation generated during implementation including collection of artifacts that will be supportive during the writing of the QEP Impact Report.

Coordinate with the Business Office regarding the QEP budget reporting by maintaining detailed by semester budget reports related to expenditures.

Communicate vital information related to the QEP, including progress, accomplishments, and findings to both internal and external stakeholders.

Compile, analyze, and use assessment data in collaboration with QEP Assessment and Implementation Committees to drive continuous improvement.

In collaboration with the assigned QEP Academic Co-Chair, complete a written summary every semester summarizing outcomes and lessons learned and updating an annual report to facilitate the five-year analysis of the QEP Impact to SACSCOC.

Other duties as assigned or deemed appropriate and/or necessary by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent project management skills with experience leading diverse teams and committees and special projects.

Demonstrated experience implementing evaluation plans to drive action plans for continuous improvement.

Ability to work independently, multi-task, and simultaneously manage a large project with multiple activity streams.

Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff across campus to enact improvement strategies.

Advanced computer and technical skills to manage simulations, including hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions.

Excellent organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with budgets, maintain records, both financial and programmatic, and meet deadlines.

Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.

Supervise and evaluate assigned student coaches.

Maintain effective and collaborative work relationships with members of the community, the student population, QEP Academic Division co-chair, and the College’s academic and administrative staff.

Prepare, analyze, and implement appropriate recommendations related to assigned area.

Relate to and work with students from different cultural, environmental, and social backgrounds as assigned.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
