Position Description
General Responsibilities:
The Director of Title III Activities and Lead Success Coach enhances the student academic experience by planning and implementing activities of the Title III project, assisting students through the onboard and enrollment processes, providing academic and personal support to enrolled students, and supervising the Success Coach Team as they do the same. The Director of Title III Activities and Lead Success Coach works collaboratively and creatively with the Success Coaches, Faculty Advisors, and students to meet institutional and Title III project objectives.
Specific Responsibilities:
- With supervision from the Dean of Students, ensures successful function of the Success Coach Team and the Title III Project consistent with the goals of the overall institutional strategic plan.
- Collaborates with Title III Project Director to ensure all applicable district, state, and federal regulations and requirements are followed and to institutionalize activities of the Title III project post-grant
- Leads and directly supervises the Success Coach Team, ensuring institutional and Title III project goals are met through Student Success Team activities, including:
a. establishing team objectives
b. supporting Success Coaches in meeting these objectives
c. evaluating Success Coach performance - Provides day-to-day leadership of the Title III project and implements project activities to maximize the engagement of faculty, staff, and departments in support of institution and project objectives
- Assists the Title III Project Director with managing the Title III project budget and expenditures to ensure the appropriate use of federal funds; monitors budgets and requests use of funds in a timely manner to ensure all funds are used within the grant period; manages budget changes and other administrative concerns that arise occur during the awarded granting period
- Leads efforts of the Success Coach Team and faculty advisors to provide proactive and intrusive academic and personal support to traditional and adult students and to dual-enrolled students (as needed) as they onboard McDowell Tech and enroll in and complete coursework
- Assists with college recruitment presentations and other recruitment activities
- Coordinates continuous formative and summative evaluation of all Title III project activities and assists with reporting, including internal, financial, and annual performance reports
- Represents the Title III project and the Success Coach Team to the McDowell Tech community and external constituents
- Other duties as assigned
