Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of one-year experience in adult education and career development.  Must have experience in developing educational programs, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse populations and strong communication and organizational skills.

Position Description

Responsible for planning, coordination and maintenance of designated Occupational Extension and Personal Enrichment classes with accurate record keeping and reporting.

***Position will remain open until filled***

Essential Responsibilities

 

Coordinate occupational extension classes including but not limited to automotive, professional training, trades/construction as well as personal enrichment classes, and summer camps.

Assist the Dean in the development of new programs and classes.

Participate in the recruitment of knowledgeable and effective part-time instructors for existing and potential classes and summer camps.

Recruit, hire, and supervise instructors for trades and personal enrichment classes.

Recruit, hire, and supervise summer camp instructors and assistants.

Schedule and set up classrooms, prepare and submit dummy contracts, attendance sheets, and other required paperwork in a timely manner meeting all deadlines, checking for accuracy, correctness and completeness of all data/records.

Establish and maintain community relations with civic groups, business and governmental agencies.

Assist the Dean in preparing and monitoring budgets for occupational and personal enrichment classes.

Procure and manage supplies, textbooks, equipment and instructional supplies for occupational and personal enrichment classes.

Safeguard and keep accurate inventory of instructional equipment.

Conduct required class visits as outlined in the accountability and credibility plan.

Maintain updated course outlines and submit to Continuing Education prior to the start of class.

Schedule and conduct Personal Enrichment Advisory Committee meetings.

Analyze student evaluation of instruction and use the information to improve course quality.

Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC.

Participate in College events and activities.

Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures.

Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.

Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC.

Serve on various committees as assigned.

Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
