Education Required
Bachelor’s degree required from a regionally accredited college in a field including, but not limited to Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Human Resources or other related fields.
Experience Required
- Demonstrated success in project management required. An understanding of regional and industry needs as well as national and international needs for job skills training. Ability to collaborate with Work Force Development Board, Economic Development Councils, Chambers of Commerce and other support agencies to provide business and industry training.

- Three years of successful experience in business or industry, with supervisory or management experience

- A proven track record in client-centered, business-to-business relationship building.
- Experience in developing and implementing business/industrial training, instructional design, employee development, or adult education.
- Experience with the NCCCS Customized Training Program.
Position Description
The Director of Industry and Trades Training reports directly to the Vice President of Workforce and Continuing Education and is responsible for providing training through occupational extension and customized training programs within Guilford County for existing and prospective businesses to maintain, enhance, and improve their business success. These programs are designed for the specific purposes of training individuals for employment, upgrading the skills of individuals presently employed, and retraining others for employment in different occupational fields. This position is responsible for Workforce and Continuing Education occupational extension and customized training programs for industrial and trades companies to include the assessment of employer needs for skill building, supervision, and leadership training. This person supervises the department coordinator, full and part-time faculty and administrative support staff, and oversees departmental budgets. This position also performs other institutional assignments as required and represents the institution within the business, workforce development, and economic development communities.
