Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in education administration, student personnel services, counseling or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

Three (3) years' progressively responsible experience in program management, facilitation and implementation.

Previous experience in managing TRIO programs or serving disadvantaged student populations similar to TRIO. 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Student Support Services or other TRIO funded programs.

The Director of TRIO- Student Support Services is responsible for coordinating and evaluating program initiatives that focus on providing academic support and increasing retention, transfer and graduation rates of low-income, first generation and students with disabilities. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of TRIO/Student Support Services operations and attainment of program goals.  

NOTE: Annual appointments are subject to annual reauthorization of federal funds under the Department of Education. Continued appointments are contingent upon the availability of funding.

 

 

  • Develops, implements and oversees activities and programming for the TRIO/Student Support Services program
  • Manages and coordinates staff, completes performance evaluations, promotes innovative and creative ideas among staff and fosters a cohesive workforce that provides professional assistance to students
  • Ensures the delivery of quality academic advising and career development services for program participants
  • Develops, implements and evaluates methods to document participant success and attainment of project objectives
  • Implements and manages policies and procedures for the TRIO/Student Support Services program while also interpreting and applying college policies and procedures 
  • Represents the program at meetings on and off campus
  • Develops, initiates and sustains methods to integrate the TRIO/Student Support Services mission and objectives with the College’s mission
  • Manages the departmental budget by overseeing expenditures in accordance with federal guidelines, planning for new programming, managing staffing requirements and reviewing vendor contracts regularly
  • Establishes and  maintains effective working relationships with various College departments to facilitate success for project participants
  • Coordinates and assists in providing workshops and training sessions for participants
  • Prepares and submits all necessary reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
