Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Ten years of full-time professional experience driving a tractor trailer truck is required.
Training:
High School diploma or equivalency required.
License or Certificate:
Requires the possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Commercial driver's license, class A.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Experience in teaching at a post-secondary level preferred.
License or Certificate:
Preference given to candidates with current 3rd Party Examiner Status.
Position Description
The Program Director, Truck Driver Training, functions as the academic administrator for the Truck Driver Training Program by providing accessible, quality learning experiences within the classroom, laboratory, and/or distance learning settings; facilitates the learning process to help students be successful; provides accurate, quality academic and career advisement for students; seeks professional development opportunities to implement best practices in teaching within discipline area; maintains office hours according to institutional policy; completes required course assessments and documentation in an accurate and timely manner; attends college meetings, student activities, institutional functions; and contributes to the development of curriculum courses and programs; collaborates with workforce partners to ensure that the program is meeting the needs of business and industry; and partners with other areas of the college to deliver customized training courses as needed.
