A bachelor’s degree is required. Licensures, industry-recognized credentials, and significant work experience in industry and vocational occupations may be considered. Must be willing to become a NCCER Master Trainer within one year of being hired.

Position Description
The Director for Workforce Development and Credentialing is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining positive and effective relationships with all relevant workforce partners at the local, regional and state levels to include private and public entities. The director will consult with prospective and existing businesses to provide clearly defined proposals to address specific business and industry sector workforce needs using existing NCCER education and training programs and/or customized solutions; design and ensure delivery of workforce development solutions; make site visits and presentations to businesses, events , conferences, and job fairs; and, utilize marketing/labor market data to seek talent solutions for businesses and build revenue generating workforce opportunities in Bladen county.
The Director for Workforce Development and Credentialing will have considerable working knowledge of economic development, workforce development and/or occupational and technical education. Working knowledge of available state and regional economic and workforce development resources, processes, and point of contact in order to best serve customers. Working knowledge of regional education, training, and credentialing programs, and the region’s service territory, existing businesses, and industry clusters. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive and effective working relationships with local, state, and regional partners relative to workforce development, economic development, and area industries. Demonstrated ability to write professional proposals, reports, analyses, and grants. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; with strong interpersonal skills necessary to give impactful presentations to large and small groups. Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computers with current software programs.
