Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree with at least 18 hours in  Communication, English or Foreign Language. 
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). 

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.
Previous management/administrative experience .

Position Description

Provide direct supervision to the Communication, English and Foreign Language Program Coordinators and to faculty and instructional support staff in the Communication, English and Foreign Language division.

Assist in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of full and part-time Communication, English, and Foreign Language Instructors.

Evaluate curriculum programs regularly to ensure compliance with State and College policies and procedures, as well as ensure currency, quality, and effectiveness of programs in meeting student learning outcomes.

Coordinate course schedules, institutional and program assessments, program review, and new program development.

Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of division goals and objectives.

Assist in the marketing of curricula courses, Associate in Arts and Associate in Fine Arts programs.

Schedule and facilitate annual program Advisory Committee meetings.

Determine budgetary needs within the division to include supplies, equipment, travel, and other costs.

Oversee the recruitment, advising, and graduation readiness review of students in the Associate in Arts and Fine Arts programs.

Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery and utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in the teaching and learning process.

Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.

Perform other duties as outlined in the job description for Division Chairperson in the Organizational Handbook.

Comply with instructional responsibilities, as outlined in the job description for instructional faculty in the Organizational Handbook.

Provide assistance to the Dean of Arts and Humanities.
