Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid NC driver’s license with driving record that is within the parameters set by the college

  • Candidate should have a proven record of accomplishment of successful fundraising capabilities, which include securing gifts of $25,000+, managing annual giving campaigns, managing volunteer committees, and strategic marketing/communications.
  • Candidate should have proven knowledge and involvement in community organizations.

  • Five to seven years of foundation related experience in a community college or higher education setting

Position Description

DEFINITION:

 

The Donor Experience Manager will be an accomplished fundraising professional who focuses on both details and results and who brings demonstrated administrative and managerial experience. Working with Foundation leadership, the Donor Experience Manager will design and implement a comprehensive fundraising program to achieve sustained fundraising growth for the college; organize, direct, and coordinate all aspects of fundraising, and other resource development activities for the college. The Donor Experience Manager manages all aspects of annual and planned giving solicitations and stewardship which include, but are not limited to personal solicitation and solicitation campaigns. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

 

  • Receives direct supervision from the Director of Advancement.
  • Exercises direct supervision over the Alumni and Donor Relations Coordinator.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTION STATEMENTS:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Manages Foundation stewardship relationships and initiatives
  • Builds strategies for moving individual and corporate donors to higher giving levels and planned gifts.
  • Focuses on effective communication and solicitation activities with specific donor segments identified as

having potential for the greatest impact.

  • Oversees all alumni engagement and fundraising event activities, providing supervision of the Alumni and Donor Relations Coordinator.
  • Works directly with Foundation Board members on fundraising campaign efforts.
  • Maintains a high-quality stewardship process for all donors. 
  • Ensures that stewardship requirements are met to sustain successful partnerships by maintaining detailed records of solicitation activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing donors and donor prospects through consistent positive communication, including regular in-person meetings and phone calls.
  • Manage all scholarship renewal and pledge payment reminders, serving as primary point of contact to scholarship donors.
  • Work with Alumni and Donor Relations Coordinator to invite donors and prospective donors to monthly donor/student/alumni gatherings.
  • Attend community events related to donor and business cultivation, which includes participation in activities and performances outside of regular business hours.
  • Ensure comprehensive tracking of all donor relationship activity in the Foundation’s fundraising database: Raiser’s Edge.
  • Serve as liaison to cultivate relationships between CFCC departments, faculty, staff and students.
  • Provide excellent customer service and compassion when responding to donor, faculty, staff, and student inquiries by addressing their questions, concerns, and initiatives.
  • Prepare and provide presentations to community groups as needed.
  • Conduct research to compile profile information on individuals, corporations, foundations, and other prospects, tracked in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Assist Foundation leadership and Board of Directors in identifying existing and prospective donors for major gifts.
  • Seek out community events and networking opportunities, and establish a Foundation presence.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Other Important Functions:

  • Has a continuous working relationship with the Director of Advancement.
  • Pursue professional development to keep informed on best practices in resource development field.
  • Maintain up-to-date information about the College in order to make presentations to area organizations
  • when needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with College administrators, faculty, staff and students concerning

resource development functions.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of donor information.
  • Attend staff meetings and support college committees as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in Foundation Board meetings and board committee meetings.

 

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge of:

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience using Word, Excel and donor database software; (Raisers Edge) preferred.
  • English usage including proper spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Strategic planning
  • Identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and techniques of fundraising
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about the giving programs of corporations and individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated record of success in generating significant donations from individuals and corporations
